Holiday base for 2 nights. Staff were great and it was a perfect location, good value. Stopped by Cafe India to get some coffee and treats, it's around 4-6 minutes walk from the venue, recommend.
Appreciated the pool. The room was large and there was free Wi Fi. Superb service everywhere too...
The hotel was very clean and had wonderful facilities and staff. I really enjoyed that we had an electronic key card, pay television and a study table in the room. The place is 5 km away from the Ellesmere Port downtown.
Staff gave great directions as we got a little lost on our way there and had to ring them for help. Very friendly and pleasant staff in the hotel.
Hotel on website advised that it had been updated with flat screen tvs installed, our room did have a lovely new tv but I wouldve preferred a comfy new mattress to sleep on rather than a shiny new tv. Also water supply seemed to fade if everyone was using the water at the same time. First morning the hotel was busy and water trickled out from the showerhead. Second morning wasnt so busy and shower worked perfectly.
Staff were extremely friendly and was in an ideal location for our trip to Ellesmere port which was only £7 in a taxi.
Rooms are in need of upgrading to a modern and contemporary standard in upkeeping with other hotels we have stayed in.
Excellent breakfast, bar and restaurant good. Decent 3* accommodation with no nonsense
Although there was a lift, there are also stairs to reach most upstairs rooms - we were on second floor with a pushchair which was a bit tricky
we had a lovely stay nice room and food good we enjoyed our stay thank you
Comfortable clean rooms with flat creen TV, quiet surroundings, easy access to Chester
Restaurant food and organisation on Easter Monday did not meet expectations, ran out of food and little communication to diners so I had to complain. Breakfast cost was refunded.
They had a wedding on the Saturday and the disco was incredibly loud until about 1am. Also some of the guests smashed some fire alarms and they went off at least twice before 12 the reception said it was a fault and no need to evacuate. They then went off about 3 or 4 times waking us up around 3 am. If it was a real fire getting out would be difficult as when we left before 6am on the Monday the front door is locked orders of the management. There is only one night porter on and we couldn't find him at first when we wanted to put our bags in the car.
Clean, nice hotel.
One of the bedrooms were quite smelly, and there was a lot of noise all night.
After having attended the mercure hotel we found this experience very unsatisfactory, we stayed here due to attending a wedding, firstly we were appointed the wrong room where we walked in on two hotel residents, which was very embarrasing, we were then appointed another room on the opposite end of hotel over looking noisey boilers, the room was so hot we could not sleep with heat and noise, we had no lock on bathroom door, lack of towels, also ordered room service to find they was no hot food, and had to have a third choice of sandwich, last of all the water was so hot we could not get washed without almost burning ourselves, we did not have a pleaseant stay in the mercure unfortunetly,
Pleasant staff, quite well-appointed room
No problems really, middle of the road experience
Being able to swim
Bedroom smelled of smoke, but we should have thought to reserve non smoking room, maybe...Pool in need of refurbishment
Its a good location to explore the Wirral & Cheshire with easy link rail services into Liverpool and provides much better value than Liverpool City Hotels. Breakfast is good just ask for scrabbled or poached eggs freshly made if you want them.
We had problems with water pressure and availibilty which were eventually sorted out, so I guess they have learnt how to solve these problems now
Superb location for Chester, Cheshire Oaks and surrounding area. .Room was clean and comfortable and staff were very polite and friendly/
Room was extremely hot with no way to contol the radiators.
